MORE THAN A BUILDING. A HOME FOR OPPORTUNITY

Hoops By The River Inc. has spent years creating opportunities for young people and families throughout East Harlem. Our vision is to take the next major step by establishing a permanent Sports & Educational Center designed to serve the community year-round.

The proposed facility would bring athletics, education, mentorship, workforce development and community programming together in one location—creating a safe and welcoming environment where young people can learn, train, compete, develop new skills and prepare for their futures.

Our vision includes dedicated spaces for basketball and athletics, classrooms and educational programs, mentorship and leadership development, youth employment and workforce training, creative and technology opportunities, community events and family programming.

The project also envisions a multipurpose arena capable of hosting basketball games and tournaments, boxing and wrestling events, graduations, performances, community gatherings and other special events.

This is not simply a plan to construct another building. It is a plan to create a permanent community resource that can serve East Harlem for generations.

A permanent Hoops By The River Sports & Educational Center would provide more than a place to play basketball. As part of our fundraising campaign, Hoops By The River is releasing special “Creating Opportunities. Building Futures.” T-shirts designed to represent the mission behind everything we are working to build.

50% of every T-shirt sale will go directly toward our fundraising goal for the proposed Hoops By The River Sports & Educational Center.
